McAdoo Kawasaki Racing’s Conor Cummins will get the 2009 road racing season underway this weekend at the Cookstown 100 road races. The team is based on the actual Cookstown circuit so the travel costs will be light!
Practice gets underway from 2.30pm on Friday 24th with two Superbike races and one Supersport 600 race for the McAdoo Kawasaki team on Saturday 25th. Conor has only raced the circuit once before (in 2007) so his lack of experience, plus only getting his first ride on the new 2009 Ninja ZX-6R Kawasaki Supersport bike will make things tough at Orritor, especially in the short practice sessions, one in each class.
Despite this, Conor is excited at the prospect of racing on the roads again. “I’m really looking forward to racing at Cookstown this weekend. The shorter races will be different to last weekend’s Le Mans 24 hour event where I also raced a ZX-10R Kawasaki. The ZX-6R Kawasaki should be fun to ride around Cookstown - it’s looks to be a great little bike. There will be tough competition from much more experienced riders around Orritor but I’ll give it my best shot”. |
